Sarah Milliken trained as a prehistoric archaeologist and taught at various universities in the UK, Italy and Ireland before a keen interest in environmental issues and a desire to actively address them led her to undertake postgraduate qualifications in landscape architecture and urban sustainability.
Sarah's research interests primarily revolve around the science–policy–society interface in the sustainable cities agenda – e.g., the urban water–energy–food nexus, the circular urban metabolism, urban green infrastructure and environmental justice, biophilic urbanism as a nature-based solution for public health – with a specific focus on EU policy.
