Thomas Hillier is a Senior Lecturer in Architecture, Design Module Lead for year 2 & 3 BA (Hons) Architecture at the University of Greenwich and runs a Masters in Architecture design unit that explores narrative-driven architectural speculation and our ever-changing impact on the world’s landscapes. He is also co-founder of FleaFollyArchitects, designing and making one-off installations of wonder.
At FleaFollyArchitects, Thomas’s work explores full-scale fabrication of intimate architectural ‘follies’ that respond to the context and stories in which they are set. Thomas is currently developing a practice-based PhD at RMIT exploring how the boundaries of hand-crafted architectural model making can be used as a didactic tool to explore and spatialise lost memories, creating real, unreal and imagined new worlds.
