Benz Kotzen is a chartered landscape architect with over 25 years working as a landscape consultant with practices such as Arup. Benz has taught at the University of Greenwich since 1996 and is a Professor in Landscape Architecture with research interests in drylands, urban agriculture, aquaponics and the urban heat island.
Benz’s research focuses on solving real world problems by using nature based solutions with new technologies. Research ranges from aquaponics generated in the Aquaponics Labs to arid lands restoration, urban agriculture and dew collection. With a key focus on water Benz has successfully been PI on many EU projects.
